Synopsis of Each Class
Beginners - Level 1
You’ll learn the basics in about 3 dances every class, mainly covering these dances: Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Salsa, Waltz, Tango & Foxtrot, plus a few other dances from time to time.
We also assume you know nothing, this allows for new students to enter the class from week to week without feeling out of their depth. So only the very basic steps in each dance are done in our Lev 1 class. The pace of this class is slow and repetitive for obvious reasons.
Beginners - Level 2
You’ll learn more variations on the basics, develop your styling, technique and arm positions, and Cuban action etc.. often covering a whole routine for you to get to know. In this class the dances covered are: Cha Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Salsa, Jive, Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and Quickstep.
We tend to focus on the Jive and Quickstep in Lev 2, as the speed of these dances can be a little tricky for the less experienced, but tons of fun once you find your feet. These routines can then be used on the social dance floor or for your first exams or even in a Novice competition.
Intermediate - Ballroom & Latin
This class covers: Cha Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Salsa, Jive, Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep and some social New Vogue dances are included from time to time.. For each of these dances you’ll learn a fairly technical routine, with more elaborate styling and flair than in the beginners’ classes.
These routines are all Bronze medal standard, for those of you wishing to be examined, and of course these routines can also be used in Novice and lower grade competitions, as well as for social dancing fun too, of course.
